I really wanted to photograph this wedding from the first email we exchanged. Fiona is half Greek and half British, Shadi is half Egyptian and half Palestinian, I expected this wedding to be anything but traditional. Laia and her Menorca Events team were in charge of organizing the day at the beautiful hotel Cugó Gran Menorca. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful landscapes, vineyards and lavander fields, I can’t imagine a better spot.
Live music was a constant at this outdoor wedding. The Melodima group was in charge of playing during the Arabic ceremony and during the aperitif. But the kings of the party were, without a doubt, The Gypsy Queens, who appeared in the middle of dinner to give it all. At the second song they already had the guests and the bride and groom dancing and singing on top of the chairs and tables, between glasses and half-eaten dishes. What a soirée! Towards the end of dinner, the couple and their families began to break dishes to the rhythm of music, a tradition of Greek weddings that augurs happiness and abundance for the newlyweds.
