Carlos contacted me through Edgar and Miriam, he was one of the guests of their wedding and he wanted me to accompany him at a very special moment for him and Laia, his girlfriend.
He was going to propose to Laia and he wanted to have that moment captured in order to remember it better. The chosen place was one of the private zones of Cova den Xoroi, in Calan Porter, with incredible sea views and a magical sunset.
I pretended to be some of the Cova’s photographers, and when they arrived at their VIP lounge, Carlos made her pose looking at the sea with the excuse of a photo. A few seconds later she turned around to see if he was done, and found Carlos kneeling, with a ring in his hand, her face went from maximum happiness to tears of joy, again to tears, and joy. .. Being part of moments like this makes me like my work even more. Not only photograph the moment, but also be a buddy, choose the ideal place and time for the proposal, the nerves waiting for the couple to arrive, the half smile hidden with him/her when recognizes me, the emotion of knowing what is about to happen, and, above all, the reaction of the surprised one.
